Enthusiasm & willingness to learn
A love of soil and growing
A commitment to contributing to the farm community
Reliability
A co-operative approach to working together
At Bentley Urban Farm we follow 'permaculture' and 'ecoculture' principles to create a thriving, productive ecology which benefits all the beings that are connected to it. As well as improving our soil, growing more food/fibre/herbs and making a beautiful place, we need to make some money to pay for the site. We want to develop an income stream from selling compost and fertilisers and we also want to become self-sufficient in compost.
Additionally, we have funding for running training courses and would love to run some compost training if you're up for it.
BUF is an entirely volunteer-run and collectively managed community garden.
We believe that growing and sharing our food together makes for healthier people, a healthier environment and a healthier community.
We are connected to the Landworkers Alliance and are members of Doncaster Food Network.
