Introduction

What you will be doing

Role purpose:
Many carers/Clients do not get the opportunity to engage in social activities for themselves and the groups that Crossroads Care Rotherham are able to hold give them a place to relax and enjoy themselves. These roles are a fundamental part of the groups running smoothly and are important if engagement is to be achieved.

Role involved with Recreational activities:
•Carer/client support groups
Carer/Client Support Group Tasks and Responsibilities
•Meeting and greeting carers attending the carers group
•Engaging with carers, providing stimulating conversation on a 1:1 basis, if they want someone to talk to. A DBS will be required to undertake this role.
•Support carers to join in with activity sessions
•Making and serving refreshments
•Report any concerns or safeguarding issues to Crossroads Care Rotherham staff in attendance
•Facilitating/assisting with a range of activities

What we are looking for

We ask all our volunteers to:
•Attend and complete the full induction process
•Comply with all policies and sign all codes of conduct appropriate to the volunteer role
•Share information with the Volunteer Development Co-ordinator and contact Crossroads Care Rotherham immediately if they have any concerns regarding the physical or emotional wellbeing of (i) carers or (ii) peer volunteers who are providing carer support;
•Attend 1:1 supervision sessions
•Access and attend regular training provided by Crossroads Care Rotherham
•Provide the names of 2 references
